This project involved upgrading of the legacy, proprietary LIEBHERR batching control system at the Sweileh mixing plant with a modern, high-performance Siemens-based automation platform, spanning both the physical controller hardware and the SCADA environment. The primary objective of this transition was to eliminate the limitations of the older proprietary system, improve batching accuracy, and establishing a highly flexible control architecture.
Simatic S7-1512 CPU was used as the controller connecting to existing I/O modules via Profibus. The runtime system was built and designed using WinCC Professional V19.
The ordering system was designed from scratch using Visual Studio Code. It involved C#, SQL and Python Programing to integrate the ordering system with the PLC and SCADA system.
The ordering system for the plant is managed by SIMMA software which was integrated within the system also.
